Philips presents three solutions for healthy sleep

Time flies – everyone wants to do the right thing when it comes to their job, family and friends, while also keeping active in sports, pursuing hobbies and eating as healthily as possible. Unfortunately, the day only has 24 hours, and people also need to sleep. And yet amazingly, 40 per cent of those between the ages of 25 and 54 allow themselves less than the recommended seven hours of sleep per night. Insufficient or poor sleep has an impact on your whole day: your energy level, nutrition, stress level, mood, concentration, job and family life. At this year’s IFA Philips is introducing and showcasing solutions that help people stay healthy and live life to the fullest.

Effective sleep with SmartSleep

At the IFA Global Press Conference in Rome, Philips is giving a first glance at what it has coming up the coming period. The company is presenting SmartSleep, the first sleep solution that clinically proven[1] improves deep sleep and is planning to put it on the market by the end of 2018[2]. The headband makes sleep more effective so that tiredness during the day is reduced and energy throughout the day is increased. It measures the sleep phases in real time and generates tailor-made audio tones that have been proven to improve the depth and duration of deep sleep. The accompanying “SleepMapper” app logs the sleep improvement over the course of time, provides tips and suggestions and in doing so supports the development of a good and effective sleep routine. A healthy environment with the air purifier

Home should be the place where you can breathe deeply with the best air quality – during the day as well as at night. But what many do not know is that certain types of pollen can also occur in interior spaces and lead to long-term impairments. This is especially unpleasant for those with allergies. Their complaints, for instance frequent coughing, don't just stop when it's time for that well-earned sleep. That makes falling asleep and sleeping through the night more difficult. The Series 5000i Air Purifier removes 99.97 per cent of allergens transmitted by air, such as pollen, dust mites, animal hair as well as bacteria, viruses and ultra-fine particles, and thus provides a restful sleep through the night. Its sensitive sensors detect the smallest changes in fine dust and allergen levels in a room. It independently adapts its performance to restore the ideal air in the room[3]. The particularly gentle airflow guarantees quiet operation at any time of the day or night. The monitoring and cleaning of room air is supplemented by the air purifier's smart control using the “Air Matters” app and Amazon Alexa. The app also delivers supplementary information on the outside air quality.

Drift off to sleep relaxed and wake up refreshed with Somneo connected

How you start the day sets the mood! Starting at the end of the year, the Philips Somneo connected Sleep & Wake-up Light will see to it that you start your day as pleasantly and refreshed as possible. It will initiate the wake-up process in a more natural way with the help of a colourful sunrise even before the selected time to get up and demonstrably makes getting up easier due to the slow increase in the light intensity[4]. Falling asleep should be a pleasant gentle process. You can choose between the sunset function or the RelaxBreathe feature. Both will give you the perfect conditions to drift off to sleep relaxed. The AmbiTrack sensor on the back of the product records parameters such as air humidity, temperature, brightness and disruptive noises in order to determine the optimal sleep conditions. Like SmartSleep the new Somneo can also be connected and controlled with the SleepMapper app. But that's not all: it records the individual sleep times, monitors the conditions in the bedroom and offers tips and suggestions for the best possible sleep.
